The City of South Burlington:

A city in search of a center, South Burlington seems to have invented itself around two busy thoroughfares, Shelburne Road (U.S. 7) running north-south and the east-west Williston Road (U.S. 2). This industrious settlement is a nexus of shopping malls, automobile dealerships, furniture stores and businesses of every description. But commerce is not the whole story of South Burlington. This little city wrapped around Burlington is also home to an intricate network of recreational opportunities including a seven-mile bike path, the multi-use lakefront park Red Rocks (swimming and hiking in summer, cross-country skiing in winter) and a newly-constructed, state-of-the-art ice skating rink (the Cairns Arena). Its many movie theaters, proximity to various cultural events in Burlington and education-orientation make it a popular Chittenden County community.
