The Town of Richmond:
In 1813, Baptists, Congregationalists, Methodists, Universalists and Christians joined forces to construct the Old Round Church, a 16-sided historic and starkly beautiful Richmond sanctuary. With this blessing of unity, the one-stoplight town - a collection of gracious Victorian homes, scenic mountain roads, artist hideaways and little bohemian enterprises - has flourished since the days when the state's first governor, Thomas Chittenden, lived here in the late 18th century. Just off Interstate 89, this friendly village graced by rolling meadows provides breathtaking views of Camels Hump.
