Milton is a suburban community that blends convenience in its proximity to Burlington with rich natural resources. The town is cross-crossed by many of the region's major traffic arteries including Interstate 89, making it within easy distance of the amenities of Chittenden County. At the same time, Milton serves as the gateway to Lake Champlain and is home to the popular Sand Bar State Park swimming area. The wide and deep Lamoille River empties into Lake Champlain in Milton and is used heavily by boaters and camp owners while providing a rich natural resource for wildlife.
