The Town of Huntington:
To the east, the alpine splendor of Camels Hump rises 4,083 feet above sea level. Below, this small town once known for its timber, cows and hay has become another growing bedroom community for such relatively big metropolises as Burlington. It could be conjectured that Huntington's development fever started in 1786, with a log cabin built by the first settlers, Jehiel and Elizabeth Johns. The quaint rural character might be changing, but Huntington - which also has a fair share of hunting camps nestled in wooded foothills - is still a scenic wonder. There are only a few stores and businesses in this rural community, which features the Green Mountain Audubon Nature Center.
